¹³ “Say to the Israelites, ‘You must observe my Sabbaths.^(A) This will be a sign^(B) between me and you for the generations to come,^(C) so you may know that I am the Lord, who makes you holy.^(D)

¹⁴ “‘Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it is to be put to death;^(E) those who do any work on that day must be cut off from their people. ¹⁵ For six days work^(F) is to be done, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest,^(G) holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day is to be put to death. ¹⁶ The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath,^(H) celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. ¹⁷ It will be a sign^(I) between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.^(J)’”^(K)

²¹ “Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest;^(A) even during the plowing season and harvest^(B) you must rest.

²² “Celebrate the Festival of Weeks with the firstfruits^(A) of the wheat harvest, and the Festival of Ingathering^(B) at the turn of the year.^[a]

² For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a day of sabbath^(A) rest to the Lord. Whoever does any work on it is to be put to death.^(B)

The Sabbath

³ “‘There are six days when you may work,^(A) but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest,^(B) a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work;^(C) wherever you live, it is a sabbath to the Lord.

The Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread^(D)

⁴ “‘These are the Lord’s appointed festivals, the sacred assemblies you are to proclaim at their appointed times:^{(E) 5} The Lord’s Passover^(F) begins at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month.^{(G) 6} On the fifteenth day of that month the Lord’s Festival of Unleavened Bread^(H) begins; for seven days^(I) you must eat bread made without yeast. ⁷ On the first day hold a sacred assembly^(J) and do no regular work. ⁸ For seven days present a food offering to the Lord.^(K) And on the seventh day hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work.’”
